Amazing Grace....Lace!

If you read both our blogs, you know that God (and Mother Nature) laughed at our plans to meet up while Grace and her husband were on vacation at the beach earlier this month. Between the heatwave that occurred and some health concerns for Grace, it didn't happen. "We make plans, God laughs." is a saying that if more often than not a fact in my world. We will try to make it happen in the fall. Not making plans mind you, but you know. Well. Upon her return home, Grace told me she was mailing a gift she had for me. It arrived yesterday, and let me tell you, when I opened it, I cried. Grace presented me with one of her stunning lace shawls! It is beyond gorgeous, and the reason I call her "Grace of the Amazing Lace" The shawl is one of several choices she asked for our favorites on when she was trying to decide which shawl to give someone she didn't know all that well (I think, or she was being sneaky!). My favorite of the group (not the one chosen--lucky for me!) was the last one in the post: a combination of a Renee Leverington and Grace's own pattern, in Fiddlestick's Country Silk yarn is the "Earth" colorway. That beautiful lace shawl is now mine! It is very light, and at the same time, it is warm. I've been wearing it on and off around the house, (the A/C is on and sometimes it's chilly!--a good excuse!) The colors are really wonderful, and the lace, goes without saying, amazing:
Grace, your incredible generosity and kindness is so deeply appreciated. Thank you so very much.

The shawl is gorgeous. If it came from the Grace I think it did, she's amazing. Who else has knit so many shawls?
