November Rose

My brother gave me this beautiful rose from his garden yesterday. Imagine, roses in November? Strange weather indeed. Thanksgiving, and it was 66 degrees. Great day for the Macy's Day Parade, at least. It was colder on Easter, and it snowed! Today is more seasonable, perhaps less than, even, it's 39. I blew off going in to work today, and am just going to do a few things remotely. Then, catch up on posting to the blog, TV shows on DVR, and knit! I'm not facing "black Friday" shopping crowds on the roads.

Thanksgiving 2007

I hope everyone had their fill of the feast, and enjoyed the time spent with family, friends or loved ones, however the day was spent. This was our table at my brother's. My sister-in-law cooked a fabulous dinner for us all. Her mom made some sides we have grown to love over the years, a Scottish oat bran stuffing, and just for me a cranberry orange walnut relish that I love. No one else besides she and I care for it, they all like that canned thing pictured on the near right. That's fine by me, I got to take all the relish home.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome Baby!

My new little great-niece Brooklynn Ann was born at 12:38 a.m. today! She is 9lbs 2oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. :-)
She wisely chose to wait until after midnight to make her entrance and won't have to share her birthday with her parent's anniversary. Mom, Dad, and baby are all doing fine.
