My boss/friend (heck, she's my friend) Tamar's mother died from breast cancer many years ago. Tamar's recent mammogram was suspicious, with 2 small spots evident...her biopsy was yesterday. Knowing her family history, that's scary. For a few years now, I've worn this wristband in support of my "sisters" who've gone through breast cancer. Last week, it broke. I was concerned. What did that mean? I've worn that band daily, along with the LiveStrong band, except for formal or dressy occasions. Why did my pink band break all of a sudden? Was someone close going to lose their battle, or have to fight a new one? The friend I was with when this happened said no...it could mean someone was going to win. Perhaps, that was it because: Oh happy day!! Tamar's results were benign! She has to go back in 3 months to check again, but for now, rejoice! She put up a brave front: she was scheduled to travel prior to this and the Dr. said not to change her plans, but come in immediately upon her return. Yesterday, she said what ever happens, will happen, but I could tell she was not OK. This morning, she just wanted to "know". When she came in to tell me the results a little while ago, great news indeed.
I'm buying a new band. NOW. OK...so I shopped the site a little more. I needed some notecards. And what do I see a category for? YARN! Good shopping site...with a little give-back. :-)
