Weekly Topic for the FFBE

Over at the FFBE Anne wants to know: As of this weekend, the season has officially changed on the calendar - but what makes Autumn feel like Autumn to you, and why?

There are a few things that feel like Autumn has arrived around here. The first, it just seems that there is less traffic. I noticed it most this week. I live in a beach town, and there are many year round residents, but it just seems it's easier to get around. Guess the summer residents have gone back to their winter digs. It's also the chill in the evenings. It can be 70 or 80+ during the day, but the nights cool down to mostly the 50's. And the scent of folks burning wood in their chimneas or out door firepits or maybe even their fireplaces is evident. Also, the nurseries have all their fall decor out...pumpkins, cornstalks and mums galore. And a seeing a few red leaves on one of my trees tells me it's Autumn, for sure.

And speaking of the FFBE, I re-knitted the pattern with the adjustment I made for my pal's bag I frogged on Sunday, and felted it, added the trim, and it's done! It's still not exactly like the sample in the book, (scroll down for "evening musk") but it's very cute. My pal has no idea who I am so I'm going to post what she's getting. The color is off in this photo, it's a bit deeper.
I think I'm going to write to Ella Rae and tell them there's got to be a mistake. I'll post a pic of my first attempt knit exactly as written and felted soon.

Thanks for the enableing. I have to have that book! I do wonder what I will ever do with all the felted bags I have. I think I'll start giving them away...if I can ever get to the finishing. I have a few that just need a button, or a magnetic closure, or a zipper, or the handles sewn on.
