Ding Ding! We Have a Winner!

Or...winners, as the case may be. Of my 1-year bloggerversary contest. No one correctly guessed both the significance of, and the inspiration for, my blog title. I didn't think it would be that difficult, sorry ;-) I guess there aren't as many country music fans (or fans of smokin' hot Australian bad-boys) out here in blog/knitting land as I thought. Anyway, Martina, the "Pro" of the yarnfamily blog correctly guessed that Keith Urban's song "Days Go By" was the inspiration for the title. When I first was creating this here blog, that song played on my launchcast radio, and I knew then..."Days Go By" would be the title, because of the words in the chorus: "And days go by...I can feel 'em flyin'Like a hand out the window in the wind. The cars go by...Yeah it's all we've been given,So you better start livin' right now'Cause days go by..." I've mentioned in previous posts that I was involved in a pretty serious car accident a couple years ago that changed my life. Time goes by so damned fast that before we know it, a whole year has gone by. I'm not able to do a lot of the things I used to, such as walk on the beach and collect shells and seaglass, swim in the ocean, garden as I'd like, things that used to give me pleasure, but there ARE things I can do. My blog is a method to chronicle my "Days Go By", filled with my new past-time, knitting, and whatever is going on in my public and semi-private life at the time. Just to show that I've got the strength and faith to get past this. Live for the now because we don't get another chance. Mary in Vegas correctly guessed the significance of the title relating to my life, almost for word. I think she's in my head. (Careful there, woman, sometimes it's a scary place!) Both of you lovely ladies are going to receive some yarn goodness among other things for being good guessers!

But...we're not done yet. Here are the honorable mentions: Lisa, who I believe is blog-less, made a semi-correct guess as to the significance of my blog. I've got something for you when I see you at our next knitting night.
And Kristen took a guess on the inspiration which, although incorrect, introduced me to another island style musician that I'm going to check out. So, something is coming your way too, Kristen!
Thanks for helping me celebrate 1 year in blogland!

Ah! Sadly, he's not one of my favorites, despite my love for country. Congrats to the winners, and kudos to you for living so well. I have a back injury from ten years ago that dramatically changed my life, and I can only hope I'm still living life as fully as you seem to be! You're very inspiring.
