Spring for me encompasses most all the senses. I love this time of year. It is a feeling i get, telling me it's really here. Time to shake off the winter blahs! The sights...the first shoots of green from my hostas and spring flowers poking up through the still frozen ground followed by their pretty blooms. The male American Goldfinches' plumage turning more bright yellow as the days progress. The sounds...of the birds chirping happily as they feed and search for the perfect nest, or the perfect mate. And the warning horn from the drawbridge opening and closing for those boaters out for an early season cruise. Touch...the first day I go outside and feel the warmth of the sun. The smells...the scent of the Spring rain shower just smells different than other times of the year. And of course, the scent of hyacinths and lilacs. So, I know Spring is here when all these things occur. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long enough.
