Some (but not much) Knitting

I don't know why I didn't get more done. Well, there were 2 nights of knitting group, I spent some time blogging and blog reading this week, and also probably because I frogged the grey and charcoal scarf 4 times. I'm using 2 strands of alpaca and I didn't like the way the ribbing was on going along on each needle size. I'm "ok" with it now but I'm going to block it. I like the hat though. They're Christmas presents, at least the hat is, and the scarf will be, if I get it done.
This is supposed to be a snowflake. It was a KAL from a yahoo dishcloth group I'm in, but the original pattern is from Berocco and uses wool. There were cables, and right and left twists used in the pattern, none of which I'd done before. Cables? Bring 'em on! I'm ready. I was going to include it in my WWCS pal's package, but I am not pleased with the shaping , although it does sort of look like the Berocco pattern, perhaps because it is white sugar & cream cotton and not wool there is a difference. I am going to "block" it to see if I get more definition.
I've got a little more Christmas knitting I'd like to do, but when I look at a few of your tickers and see there is only 9 days left until Christmas I have my doubts about it. One gift doesn't need to be done until the Saturday after, the rest really don't "have" to be done at all, but I'd like to. Last year, I knitted gifts for a lot of people, and I am not sure they were appreciated, so this year I decided to only knit things for some of my gift recipients. Which, I should get back to. I hope if you were in the path of the winter storm this weekend, you stayed safe and dry. Here at the coast we only got a lot of wind and heavy rain. I was not thrilled that the storm chose the overnight hours to batter the shore and keep me awake most of the night, but it didn't do any damage to my property. Just think..it isn't even winter on the calendar yet...

That snowflake is super cute. But, it will be great in your own kitchen or bath if you decide not to gift it. I do hate it when I have to frog...even though I know I'll be happier with more perfect stitches. It still hurts to see the time unraveled.

Boy did we get the wind and rain. I was kind of sorry we didn't get any snow but maybe that is for the best with all the shopping I still have to do. No handknits for gifts this year. I was just not organized enough, maybe next year....
