Perfect Winter Vacation

Over at the WWCS, the weekly topic is where the perfect winter vacation would be: escape the cold, or head for the snow. For me, that's a no-brainer. As Jimmy Buffett says, "I gotta go where it's warm!" And for me, that would be the Florida Keys and Key West, 1st choice, because my best friend and her husband live there year round it's very convenient. Back when life was carefree, vacation would also be to a Caribbean island. My choice is: I want to escape the cold of winter for a while. And if the planets don't misalign and plans stay on course, I'm doing just that on January 4! Pictured is the old Flagler Railroad bridge at Bahia Honda State Park. Sadly, that palmtree was decapitated during Hurricane Wilma in 2005. One of the great things, about most beaches in the Keys, is they have very hard sand, and I may be able to walk on them, just a little. the Keys are not really known for having the best beaches, but this one is nice.

I'll be posting my WWCS answer too, but I LOVE the Key's also. I usually stay in Marathon for a few days and then Key West. I've gone multiple times and it is nice to find the "local" stops as opposed to the touristy ones. I love how relaxed everyone is all the time. Check it out in January when your there, no locals wear watches. That's the way to live hugh?

That sounds like a perfect way to spend a January birthday. I love the thought of my cold toes in some warm sand....

Nancy

While you're there are you getting more of your favorite blend of coffee? I received my package today and I am blown away! Girls, if you are lucky enough to get her as a swap partner, Nancy puts a lot of thought into her package and spends tons of time pulling it all together. My package had so many little goodies in it, it took me half an hour to open, unwrap, exclaim over, look and fondle, and jaw drop. Pics and better descriptions will be on my blog after Christmas. I am up to my eyebrows in flour right now, LOL!

Thankx Nancy! I love every bit of it.
