Intruder!

As I was getting ready to leave for work Thursday morning, I noticed this little intruder cat grooming itself and probably settling in to take a nap on that chair on my deck. Usually the patio furniture is in the shed by now, but due to the warm weather this fall, the enterprising squirrels couldn't make use of fallen leaves when building nests and decided the insides of my patio chair cushions were a better alternative. Bastards! Either that, or we're in for a hell of a winter and they know. I've left them out so they can have at it, they're no good anymore. Anyway...the intruder. Cute cat, I like black and whites. But Reggae did not much like that cat on "his" deck and growled, hissed puffed up and tried to beat up the glass door. Intruder cat heard/saw this and came to the door with his back arched. Good thing the glass was between them. In these instances, I know my cat is better left alone (I've been the recipient of his frustated aggression before, and it hurts!) so I snuck out and left for work. Intruder cat took off when I came out, and jumped over the fence. Note to self: another reason to keep Reggae indoors, even though I supervise him in the backyard. I really wish people would keep their cats inside, I've noticed a few different cats around the neighborhood recently

Looks a bit like my last cat, but... it's not. I don't like intruder "pets" in my yard either, and the deer hounds were running all over the place this morning...

Needless to say, Mugsy wasn't unsupervised for a SECOND outside!

It's funny, because I haven't given much thought to intruder cats lately. My kids are thrilled to pieces when one roams into our yard. My Gramp lives on a cul-de-sac. At one house, the family has 2 white kitties...with different colored collars. Reno and Tahoe. The know when my kids come to visit...and wait on the porch for them to come outside. The cats have been adopted by all the neighbors. And I think it's good for my Gramp to have friends without the responsibility of feeding them. I forget that not all "intruders" are that nice.

Ah such a cute little kittie..lol We have a lot of loose cats in our area..a woman moved and left 4 of them behind, the one female keeps having kittens..always a cat, but they run when the dogs are out so I think they've learn to stay out of our backyard :)
